The Short Version
Kova does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.
Data Collection
Kova collects no data whatsoever. Specifically:
- No personal information (name, email, phone number)
- No usage analytics or tracking
- No device identifiers
- No location data
- No cookies or web tracking
- No third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.)
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Study progress — which words you've learned, your review schedule, and streak data
- Preferences — your daily goal, exam type selection, dark mode setting, and reminder time
- Vocabulary data — word lists are bundled within the app
This data is not backed up to iCloud and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Network Activity
Kova makes zero network requests. The app is fully offline. The only network activity is Apple's StoreKit framework processing in-app purchases, which is handled entirely by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Kova does not receive or store any payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple and can be viewed in your Apple ID settings.
Notifications
If you enable daily study reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
Children's Privacy
Kova does not collect data from any user, including children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages.
Third-Party Services
Kova uses no third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks beyond Apple's own frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, StoreKit, UserNotifications).
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Given that the app collects no data, changes are unlikely.
